  the cheapest show on earth!

Thanks to our clients who came by during our Frugal Carnival client appreciation event. We threw our cares to the wind and enjoyed drinks, snacks and games in an economically responsible manner. Games included balloon dart board, ring toss, pick-a-duck and the dreaded “Wheel of Misfortune.” Additionally, guests could partake in the “mug” board, art show and view with wonder at the Museum of Oddities. All this and beer, snacks and cool music to boot. Hey, just because we’re in a recession doesn’t mean we forgot how to have fun! Thanks to everybody who made this event a huge success. We look forward to more fun in the years to come.

    congratulations!
to the winner of the grand prize

We have a winner on the guessing game. Carol Van Vreede from Exhibit Resource guessed the exact number of circus peanuts (47) and is the lucky winner of an electric ice cream maker with scoop and dishes. Congratulations Carol!

Logo and Website Design: Leibold
refreshing
identities

There comes a time in the life of every business when the corporate identity needs to be refreshed. The identities, or logos, of virtually every large company have evolved and changed over time, in an attempt to be relevant to new generations of customers.

When it came time to update the Baum Machine web site, it was also time to refresh their identity. Since the early days of the company, a micrometer had been incorporated as a symbol of precision.

The new logo retains the micrometer, but converts it to an icon, or pictogram that encompasses the essential values of the brand. The overall design is an example of classic modernism. This style takes us back to the most genuine forms where we have fundamental shapes, sharp contrasts, smart use of white space and form following function.

What’s surprising is that the absolute simplicity of this style is embraced by the youngest generation of designers. If you’re not sure how consumers will react to your logo identity, modernism offers a historically proven safe channel that eliminates conflicting messages, jarring colors and shapes.

The new Baum Machine logo is featured on their website, which recently received a 2009 American Graphic Design Award.

  A Jazz Mosaic!
design for the love of jazz!

Our latest Pro Bono work was the Fox Jazz Fest Poster. The free event was held on Labor Day weekend at Jefferson Park in Menasha.

“It was a pleasure to support this non-profit organization that showcases local and national jazz artists.”

— Joe Maas (Designer of this year’s poster)

  green efforts
When using an oven, use the oven light to check the food instead
of opening the door. Every time you open the door, it reduces
the oven temperature by 25° to 30°. When baking try to use glass
or ceramic pans, they help lower the temperature by about 25°
and cook foods just as quickly.
